CHIEF OPERATING OFFICER: This position has primary responsibilities for supervising the operation of the Workforce Innovation and Opportunity Act (WIOA), Jobs for Michigan’s Graduates (JMG), Partnership. Accountability. Training. Hope. (PATH), and Food Assistance Employment and Training (FAE&T) programs and Wagner-Peyser Employment Services (ES) and Trade Adjustment Assistance Act (TAA). This position will train and supervise staff that has day-to-day oversight of CAMW! programs, contract writing and monitoring, and grant planning. This position will also assist in adapting to new programs and/or grants, as well as new program development.
This position will assist in front line coordination and implementation efforts with the Michigan Department of Health and Human Services, State of Michigan Department of Labor and Economic Opportunity, Michigan Unemployment Agency, U.S. Department of Labor, local governments, and other departments of the State of Michigan.
This position will also serve as the Equal Opportunity Officer for Capital Area Michigan Works! and will ensure that all federal and state requirements are adhered to in program operations, as well as in following protocol to address complaints and grievances from the system. NEW AMERICANS (REFUGEE) NAVIGATOR: This position will function as a dedicated facilitator, problem-solver, systems change agent, and relationship builder in support of work-authorized New Americans when performing work for work-authorized new citizens with referrals to services including, but not limited to: Language Acquisition/English as a Second-Language, Housing, Healthcare, Childcare, Transportation, High School Diploma/Equivalency, Public Assistance, Training, Employment, Financial, Legal, Civil Rights. Accounting Assistant: This position will be responsible for the input and maintenance of all accounts payable/accounting information into an automated accounting system (Abila Micro Information Products-MIP). Must be able to adapt to fluctuations in workloads. Must be able to communicate well with staff orally and in writing. Must be able to follow instructions and perform duties with a high degree of accuracy-attention to detail is essential. Must have the ability to interpret all accounting data in journals, ledgers, trial balances, and other reports.
