Michigan's Work Share program

Phasing workers back to work gradually? Michigan’s Work Share program allows employers to keep employees working with reduced hours, while employees collect partial unemployment benefits to make up a portion of the lost wages. By participating in Work Share, employers can retain trained employees and avoid the expenses of recruiting, hiring, and training new employees.  For more information please see the April 2020 UIA Work Share Fact Sheet.

Registered Apprenticeships

Registered apprenticeship is an employer-driven model that combines on-the-job learning with related classroom instruction that increases an apprentice’s skill level and wages. It is a proven solution for businesses to recruit, train, and retain highly skilled workers. Apprenticeships can also be customized to meet specific industry needs. Education requirements, education providers, timing of classroom training , and length of apprenticeship are all customizable. Contact the Apprenticeship/Business Services officer at CAMW! to learn more about how registered apprenticeships can benefit your business.
