About the Going PRO Talent Fund
The Going PRO Talent Fund ensures Michigan’s employers have the talent they need to compete and grow, and individuals have the skills they need for in-demand jobs. The Talent Fund provides competitive awards for training that enhances talent, productivity and employment retention while increasing the quality and competitiveness of Michigan’s employers. Collaboration between the Michigan Works! Agencies (MWAs), economic development and educational partners is essential to achieve demand-driven training that addresses talent shortages hampering the growth of Michigan’s industries.
Companies facing a critical issue for which training may be a solution are encouraged to apply for the GPTF this Fall. For the past couple years, the state of Michigan approved several million dollars to reimburse employers through this fund for training their workers. Dozens of companies in all industry clusters in our region applied and were awarded funds.
The application process is now easier than ever! If you’ve applied before, you’ll be pleased to see a simpler, streamlined application with increased transparency for applicants — allowing you to see your score prior to submitting an application and make adjustments as needed. If this is your first time applying, then come see why Talent Fund awards are one of the most sought-after resources in the state!
All funds are awarded to employers through the Michigan Works! network (MWAs). Employers define their key training needs and can work with their local MWAs and other partners to develop a
