Introduction to Computers:

Introduction to Mouse & Keyboard offers basic instruction on operating a computer.

Beginning Keyboarding & Mouse Workshops:

Beginning Keyboarding & Mouse Workshops provide instruction in getting used to the keyboard and use of the mouse. These are for individuals who have no computer experience.

GED Preparation:

GED preparation classes are offered at all three Service Center sites. Teachers assist students in achieving readiness to take the test for receiving the General Educational Diploma (GED) in cases where they have not graduated from high school. Students must be Work First clients to participate in these classes.  Please call 1-800-285-WORKS for hours in your area.

Writing Resumes and Cover Letters:

Classes are offered at each of the three Service Centers in Lansing, Charlotte, and St. Johns, to assist job seekers in creating resumes and writing cover letters. Resume experts are on hand to discuss the power of the resume and job applications. See calendar for dates and times.

Mock Interview Classes:

Once a month a local employer conducts mock interviews that are videotaped. This offers the opportunity for the job seeker to improve their interviewing technique through practice and critique.

Budget and Finance Classes:

Capital Community Credit Union (CapCom) provides classes in budgeting and financing:
"All About Checking"- Why use checking?  How your checking account can save you money.  How to choose the right account and more. 

"Everything You Wanted to Know about Credit"- How to obtain and read your personal credit report.  What to do if you have no credit/bad credit or good credit plus other topics.

St. Johns Service Center Offers Financial Classes

Clinton County Federal Credit Union will begin conducting financial literacy (checking and credit) classes for customers.  Classes will be every Monday from 10 a.m. to 11 a.m. at 101 W. Cass St. in St. Johns and topics will alternate each week between checking and credit. Phone 989.224.2000
